Your getaway, always guest-ready

Seasonal maintenance and guest-ready preparation for your mountain, desert, or lake home. Key lockbox access, inventory checks, and trusted care while you're away.

Vacation homes spend more time empty than occupied, and that downtime creates its own set of problems. Dust accumulates in sealed rooms. Pipes dry out. Pests find entry points. Seasonal debris collects on patios and entryways. When you finally arrive for a long weekend or holiday, the last thing you want is to spend the first hours cleaning a home that should already feel like an escape.

Salt & Slate vacation home cleaning covers both the regular maintenance your property needs while you are away and the guest-ready preparation it deserves before you arrive. We coordinate with your schedule, access your property via lockbox or smart lock, and perform seasonal maintenance tasks alongside thorough cleaning. In winter, that means checking pipe insulation and clearing entry paths. In summer, it means managing dust from open windows and patio furniture care.

For owners who rent their vacation homes part-time, we offer hybrid scheduling that combines owner-stay preparation with rental turnover cleaning. Your home gets the same level of attention whether you are hosting family or guests who booked through a platform. We handle linen changes, inventory checks, and property condition reports so you have eyes on your investment even when you are hundreds of miles away.

Is This Right for You?

Who it’s for

Owners of mountain homes, desert retreats, and lake properties who want their vacation home maintained and guest-ready year-round. Also serves owners who rent their properties part-time and need reliable turnover between personal use and guest stays.

  • Your property sits empty for weeks or months at a time and you need eyes on it while you're away
  • You arrive to your vacation home and spend the first afternoon cleaning instead of unwinding
  • The property gets rented part of the year and you need a team that handles both owner-stay prep and rental turnover
  • Seasonal maintenance — pipe checks, dust management, patio furniture — isn't getting done consistently
  • You need lockbox or smart lock access coordination from a team you can trust remotely

The Process

How it works

01

Set up your property

Share your property details, access method, and how you use the home. We create a maintenance and cleaning schedule tailored to your ownership pattern.

02

Pre-arrival preparation

Before you arrive, your team cleans the entire property, changes linens, stocks essentials, and performs a condition check. You walk into a home that is ready.

03

Between-stay maintenance

While the home sits empty, we perform periodic checks and cleaning to prevent dust buildup, pest issues, and seasonal damage.

04

Post-visit reporting

After each cleaning, we send photos and a condition summary so you always know the state of your property.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you access my property if I'm not there?

Lockbox or smart lock. We document the access code securely and use it only for scheduled visits. After every visit, we send a photo report confirming the property's condition. If anything looks wrong — a window left unlocked, signs of water intrusion, an appliance issue — you hear about it the same day.

Can you handle both owner-stay prep and rental turnover for the same property?

Yes. We maintain a single property profile and adjust the checklist based on what's coming next — full seasonal maintenance if it's been sitting empty, or a fast turnover if a guest just checked out. You get one team that knows your property rather than coordinating two separate services.

How often do you recommend cleaning an empty vacation home?

At minimum, once a month while unoccupied. Dust accumulates faster than people expect in sealed spaces, especially in desert climates. We also recommend a full inspection visit at the start and end of each season — particularly before winter in mountain properties and before peak summer in desert homes.
